HIGHLAND, Kan. - Bringing a playing career that saw him become a Division I starter following a two-year community college career,
Peter Allen was named the third head coach in Highland Women's Soccer program history in February. Allen joins the Scotties after two years as an assistant coach at Eastern Illinois University.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Scottie Nation," said Allen. "I'm excited to contribute to the development of our student-athletes on off the field."
A three-year starter for Northside High School in Roanoake, Va., Allen began his college career at Frederick Community College where he made an immediate impact for the Cougars. As a two-year captain for FCC, he led a defensive unit that recorded 13 shutouts over his two seasons and added 11 points (5 G, 1 A) with two game-winning goals for the Cougars.
He finished his collegiate career with three years at Eastern Illinois before continuing on as an assistant coach for the Panthers. During his second season on the staff, he helped EIU improve to a 3-8-3 record in Ohio Valley Conference play and a berth in the OVC Postseason Championship. He also helped in the development of 2025 First Team All-OVC selection Yuki Nakamura.
During his high school career, he was a four-year varsity selection for the Vikings, captaining the squad as a junior and senior. He was a two-time First Team All-State Class 3A honoree and was a multi=sport standout for NHS, earning Male Athlete of the Year honors as a senior after earning a state championship appearance in wrestling and finishing fourth in the 400 meters in the KHSAA Class 3A Track and Field Championship meet.
Allen earned an associate of science from Frederick Community College, and added a bachelors and masters degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Illinois.
