Despite 1-0 Loss, Highland Still In Reach Of Playoff Berth

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Heading into the final two matches of the season in reach of a playoff spot, Highland (4-9-3, 2-6-1 KJCCC) traveled to KCKCC (13-2-1, 7-1 KJCCC) on Wednesday hoping to bring home a crucial point against the Blue Devils. Despite pressing hard in the second half, the Scotties were unable to overcome a 45th-minute goal from KCKCC, falling 1-0.

Drawing on their recent result against Johnson County, the Scotties were able to hold the Blue Devils scoreless through most of the first half. Unfortunately, KCKCC was able to find the net with 19 seconds left until halftime.

The Scotties battled for an equalizer in the second half, but came up short. Despite the loss, Highland is still within reach of berth in the NJCAA Region 6/9 Tournament. HCC is on the road for the final match of the regular season, taking on Allen Community College on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
