COLBY, Kan. - After leading Highland to a 4-1 record against NJCAA competition (5-1 overall) on the week,
Cali Honeyman was named KJCCC Division 2 Volleyball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office. The Seneca, Kan., freshman was joined by Campbell Chabot (Setter) and Carlie Martin (Defensive) in earning the weekly accolades.
Honeyman, a Northeast Kansas Volleyball All-Star Game selection from the class of 2025, has been a dominant force for Highland in the early part of the season. In five matches against NJCAA competition, she averaged 4.35 kills per set and finished four of those five matches with double-digit kills. Against no. 9 Iowa Central, she recorded 20 kills and eight digs in a hard-fought loss for HCC before rallying on Sunday to post back-to-back matches with a hitting percentage above .300.
She advances for consideration as the NJCAA Player of the Week, with voting taking place on Tuesday. The Scotties open the KJCCC portion of their schedule on Wednesday night, traveling to Fort Scott. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
