Cali Honeyman Named Week 1 NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After helping the Scotties to a 4-1 record against NJCAA competition last week, including a 3-1 win over Div. III no. 3 Minnesota West, Cali Honeyman was named the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for week 1. It is the first career national accolade for the Seneca, Kan., freshman, and the first for Highland since the 2021 season. Honeyman is the third Scottie to earn National Player of the Week honors in the current awards era, joining Defensive Player of the Week Maliah Griddine (Week 3 - 2021) and Offensive Player of the Week Emma Cohalla (Week 6 - 2018).

The outside hitter finished with double-digit kills in five of HCC's six matches last week, averaging 4.35 kills per set in the five NJCAA matches. Against no. 9 Iowa Central, she finished with 20 kills and eight digs and is on a three-match streak with double-digit kills. The 2025 Northeast Kansas Volleyball All-Star honoree from Nemaha Central has continued her dominance into the college game, as she ranks 6th in the nation with 120 kills on the season. She's also added 11 service aces and eight blocks (3 solo, 5 assist) on the year.

Highland opens the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference portion of its schedule tonight at Fort Scott. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
