Freshman thrower Sam Mazyck, a native of Summerville, SC, has been awarded Scottie Athlete of the Week!

Mazyck set a new Highland Community College School record in the shot put at Saturday's Pittsburg State University Invitational.
She threw 43' 3 ¼  in the shot beating the old record of 40' 10 ¼ held by Valeria Jordan in 2010, giving her the 10th best throw in the NJCAA this season.
