    Administrative Assistant

Darla Tracy has given the Highland Community College 48 years of service. After graduating from HCC, she began her first position in the financial aid office. From there she served as secretary for the president, Dr. Jack Nutt. In 1980 she moved to the Athletic Department where she served as an administrative assistant to three different athletic directors. Not only was she the welcoming face that the student athletes encountered as they entered the athletic offices but also she managed to keep the athletic department running smoothly. The athletic directors depended a great deal on her organizational skills.

Tracy had a great rapport with the student athletes and coaches. Keeping an office filled with Scottie memorabilia and filled candy dishes made everyone feel so welcomed. Many students and former coaches have kept in contact with her. Tracy was a wealth of knowledge when it came to former student athletes and coaches. That speaks volumes for her dedication to her position as administrative assistant to the athletic director. Tracy was a staunch supporter of all HCC sports attending games both at home and away. Tracy was a true Scottie through and through.

Her 36 years of service with the HCC Athletic Department certainly demands the respect of her colleagues, coaches, and students. HCC very proudly recognizes Darla Tracy as a member of the HCC Athletic Hall of Fame.
