Highland Volleyball Ranked #11 in Final Rankings of the Season

The regular season has come to a close for Highland volleyball and the focus has fully turned to District Tournament play and the opportunity to earn a bid to the National Tournament.

Scotties will head into the Districts ranked #11 in the final NJCAA Division II rankings marking the 19th straight polls that the Scotties have been ranked dating back to last year.

Five other KJCCC teams continue to hold a spot in the polls this week as has been the case most of the season as Coffeyville ranks #2, Fort Scott #3, Cowley #7, Johnson County #10 and Cloud County #17.

Highland sits at 28-8 on the season and finished third in the KJCCC using a balanced attack to work through the season finding their success on the court. Scotties have registered 1,442 kills averaging 12.22 per set which ranks 12th in the Nation, while racking up 1,341 assists with 11.36 assists per set numbers that rank 19th and 12th, respectively in the Nation. Four Scotties have 170+ kills on the season with three over 290 on the year.

Defensively the Scotties have 1,874 digs on the season averaging 15.88 per set and have compiled 216 total blocks including 182 solo blocks which ranks 14th in the Nation. Six different Scotties have 190+ digs on the season with three over 300 on the season.

Scotties will look to continue their season and earn a bid to the NJCAA DII National Tournament when they play on the Saturday in the NJCAA DII District Plains B Tournament at Fort Scott. Highland will play Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in the Semifinals at 1:00pm and with a win would play in the Championship game against the winner of Fort Scott and Cloud County.
