HIGHLAND, Kan. - Following an outstanding season that saw head coach Andrea Keller earn her 200th career win, leading the Scotties to the NJCAA Plains District A Championship match, Highland Volleyball is set to host some of the best high school talent in the area in the Class of 2026 Northeast Kansas All-Star Game and 4-State All-Star Game on Sunday, Nov. 16. Featuring more than 40 of the best volleyball players in the area, first serve for the 4-State All-Star Game is set for 2 p.m., with the Northeast Kansas All-Star Game beginning at 4 p.m. Fans are invited to help support the Highland Community College food pantry by bringing a non-perishable food item.
More recently established, the 4-State All-Star Game invites graduating seniors from around the region to show off their talent, with high school coaches across Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska nominating players for selection. Leading the 4-State Gold squad is the staff of Kara Engles and Angie Bowers from Auburn (Neb.) High School, who led the Bulldogs to a 19-13 record in 2025. At the helm of the 4-State Navy Squad is the staff from Falls City Sacred Heart, where head coach Emma Ebel and assistants Paige Vitosh and Abby Shubert led the Irish to an 18-15 record.
Following the 4-State All-Star Game, one of the longest-standing traditions in the area will feature student-athletes from Highland's nine-county service area. The Northeast Kansas All-Star Game features a pair of coaches that combined for 54 wins on the 2025 season and 24 of the best student-athletes in the area. Leading the NEK Gold team is Rhonda Hasenkamp, who led Axtell High School to a 29-16 record on the 2025 season, qualifying for the KSHSAA Class 1A District 2 tournament. On the bench for the NEK Navy team is Janelle Noel and Heather Ice, who led Jefferson West High School to a 25-13 record in 2025 and a top-50 MaxPreps ranking.
KSHSAA volleyball officiating clinicians Jolene Bannister and Vicki Hubin will once again serve as referees for Sunday's all-star contests.
Previous alumni from these all-star games have gone on to become standout college players, with First Team All-KJCCC selection Cali Honeyman among the most recent.
