Box Score Scottie volleyball took to the road for three matches Wednesday, Sept. 6, against the Coffeyville Red Ravens. Despite taking the first set by the score of 25-14, they could not keep the Red Ravens from earning the victory and fell 3-1. On Friday, Scotties volleyball traveled to Central Community College in Columbus, Neb. for a triangular against Central and Northeast Community College both of Nebraska. It was a rough day for the Scotties, falling to both teams 3-0. Highland is now 4-6 on the season and 2-1 in Jayhawk Conference play.

On Saturday, Scottie football took on a tough Dodge City Community College team at Porter Family Stadium. If you like good, sound football, then this was a great game to see. Dodge City struck first after a costly Highland turnover to take a 7-0 lead into halftime. Highland came back in the third quarter with a 12-yard touchdown pass from
Tysan Robbins (Orlando, Fla.) to
Benson Prosper (Miami, Fla.) to knot the score at 7-7. The game was at a standstill until the Conquistadors finally broke through with a 24-yard pass with 2:39 left in the game and held on for the 14-7 win. The Scotties are now 1-2 in Conference play.

HCC Athletic Director, Jerre Cole, stated, "From a results standpoint, our Scotties didn't fare that well last week. However, it sure seems to me that our fall athletic teams are growing and improving at an impressive rate even though the end results are not yet what we want."

This week, volleyball will be at home with a difficult match against the #5 nationally ranked Cowley College Tigers on Wednesday, Sept. 13. The match will begin at 6 p.m. in Allen Field House.

The Scottie harriers are on the road at Missouri Southern University Friday, Sept. 15. The women run at 3:30 p.m. followed by the men at 4:30 p.m.

The schedule for Scottie football doesn't get any easier as they travel Saturday, Sept. 16, for a 1 p.m. kickoff against the #2 nationally ranked Iowa Western Reivers.
