HIGHLAND, Kan. - Four contests against NAIA reserve squads, including a home-and-home series against Baker University, along with a packed KJCCC East Division slate highlight the 2025 schedule for Highland Community College announced by head coach Landon Hay today. The Scotties open with a four-game round-robin in Kansas City, Mo., on Feb. 7 and lift the tarp at Highland Community Ballpark for the first time on Feb. 28 hosting Southwest Community College.

"Our coaching staff is incredibly excited to watch our team compete this season," said Hay. "The 2025 schedule is a great mix of challenging non-conference opponents and the ever-daunting task of the Jayhawk East that should make for a great season of baseball. We are of course, incredibly excited for our 13 home dates that will bring some great action to Highland Community Ballpark for all of Scottie Nation to come out and enjoy!"

The Scotties open the schedule against Metropolitan Community College at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, followed by Ellsworth Community College at 2 p.m. A single game against Ellsworth is on tap for Saturday, followed by a single game against Metropolitan on Sunday.

After a four-game series at Eastern Oklahoma State College Feb. 14-15, HCC opens the home-and-home against Baker University on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The road swing wraps up with a round-robin hosted by Hutchinson Community College with doubleheaders against the Blue Dragons and Des Moines Area Community College Feb. 21-22.

Highland's home opening four-game series against the Trojans also serves as a final non-conference tuneup before HCC dives into Jayhawk East play against Neosho County Community College on Thursday, Mar. 6. The Scotties and Panthers finish out the four-game series in Highland Mar. 8.

Sprinkled in through the remainder of the conference slate are a couple of challenging non-conference tilts, including the return leg against Baker University on Mar. 18 and a home-and-home series (away Apr. 1/ home Apr. 22) against State Fair Community College.

The Scotties look to improve on last year's 17-38 (5-27 KJCCC East) record, and were predicted to finish eighth in the preseason order of finish released by the league office.
