Honeyman, Klecan Earn All-KJCCC Volleyball Honors

COLBY, Kan. - After leading the Jayhawk Conference in total kills with 498 and kills per set with 4.45, Cali Honeyman was named a First Team All-KJCCC selection as announced by the league today. Joining Honeyman as a Third Team selection was Gracie Klecan.

"We are thrilled to see Cali and Gracie earn recognition within the KJCCC for their outstanding play this season," said head coach Andrea Keller. "To post those stats against top competition all season long is truly remarkable. But what sets Cali and Gracie apart even more is their incredible work ethic, character, and quiet leadership. Both are genuinely humble and quick to credit their teammates for sharing in their success. They represent everything we value in Scottie Volleyball."

In addition to leading the league in kills, Honeyman ranked 14th in hitting percentage with a .258 pace on the year, adding 48 total blocks (11 solo, 37 assist) and 320 digs. The freshman outside hitter earned KJCCC Player of the Week honors in Week 2, going on to become just the third Scottie to earn National Player of the Week accolades. She posted a season high 27 kills at Allen County on Oct. 1, one of her five 20-kill matches.

"Cali led the conference in both total kills and kills per set while playing all the way around," added Keller. "She battled through a painful injury all year, yet you'd never know it from the constant smile she wears. I can't wait to see what she accomplishes next year when she's healthy!"

Klecan ranked second among Jayhawk Conference players with 580 digs and a 4.92/set pace on the year. The sophomore libero added 61 service aces on the year, good for third in the league behind KCKCC's Veronica Rolando and Cowley's Ashlynn Jaccard. Klecan also mustered 11 kills on the year for Highland.

"Gracie finished second in both total digs and digs per set, and third in aces per set," said Keller. "Liberos don't often receive the recognition they deserve, so seeing Gracie honored by our conference coaches is especially meaningful."

It is the first all-conference selection for both players.
